Dog walking down in LS4 today and Byron spotted a pair of Kingfishers, I managed to get a photo of him watching them but they were two small and fast to get them in the shot. They were flying fast across the weir from one side to the other, making their distinctive, loud and very high pitched alarm call. I think we inadvertently disturbed them.
It was such a warm morning that both Skye and Byron waded in the River Aire and cooled off. The river was so low we managed to paddle across to a small island just down from the weir and I sat there a while watching out for the Kingfishers as the dogs paddled and played.
,I dropped two tired and slightly damp pooches off and made may way across to my next dog walking client. Kaiser was equally impressed with the new carriage and eagerly jumped into one of the rear crates. We decided to head off over to Roundhay Park and walk through the woods and parkland. I got turned round a bit in the woods and ended up in Leeds 17 but we love exploring so didn't mind. We met another dog walker and his lovely, calm pack and they invited Kaiser to play a while. Kaiser can sniff out when there is a treat in store and she isn't shy so she made sure she was in the line up for one along with Samson, another beautiful German Shepherd.
