This adorable pooch is Kato, our Northern Inuit. He's 4 years old and best friends with Skye & Byron, the Huskie and Doberman who are regular features in my blog.
Kato is very handsome and gets compliments wherever he goes, the rest of the pack he walks with dont mind that he gets so much attention as they love him too - he gets on with all the large dogs and loves to play and chase, which is just as well as his regular pack are all big boisterous boys!
He is very obedient and stays close on our walks, always checking back to see where I am. His favourite thing to do on our walks is chase trains, don't worry he can't get on the line and he knows he cant catch them so its a slightly half-hearted chase! He is a water baby too and braves the cold waters of the River Aire, really enjoying a paddle.
He is a mischievous, happy, go lucky boy and everyone knows him locally as he really stands out with his doggy model looks.
If you watch Game of Thrones, his breed is the one that the dire wolves are based on, although in the show they are enhanced to a supersize, Kato is tall but not as tall as the dire wolves, similar in looks to Skye our Huskie but larger all round. Northern Inuits were bred in the UK using Siberian Huskies, Malamutes and German Shepherds to create a wolf-like dog that would be a suitable pet. There is no wild wolf content to the Northern Inuit breeding line and if there ever was then experts say it would now be so diluted it would now be zero percent. Kato is wolf-like in looks but not temperament, he is gentle, willing to please and forms faithful and respectful attachments to people. He has lovely manners and is an all round super boy.
