Max and I have had enough of the mud of this week. He has been splattered every day with it and I have taken two falls on account of slipping. I left a fantastic skid mark in Meanwood Park much to the amusement of the other park goers as I did an award winning foot and bum slide down a hill. I thought I had caught myself and was going to stay upright but then my legs gave way and SPLAT, down I went,
My waterproof trousers saved me from getting caked but they also added to the length of the slide due to their slippy surface. It was pretty spectacular.
I was just a bit winded so fortunately no lasting injury.
Though earlier this week I my first proper dog walking injury Mischievous little Raff the pup grabbed hold of my dreads as I bent forward to re-tie a bootlace that he was playing with so I lifted him him up to get untangled and as fast as a flash he grabbed hold of my earring and ripped it out. OUCH. I forgave him as pups do that sort of thing but ears have alot of blood vessels near the surface don't they, so I was in a bit of a mess with blood and mud on my face!
However, my injury was soon forgotten as we met the lovely Allie from Meanwood Mutts who was with 'Stevie Nicks' no less. Yes, thats right - Stevie Nicks!!!!! Not Fleetwood Mac Stevie but beautiful Beagle Stevie! I always ask what dogs are called as owners think of some great names, I once met 'Ryan Reynolds' going for a walk with his owner in Cookridge. Just brilliant.
Don't worry, the ear is healing fine just a wee bit sore and unsightly.
